Brommel is a minor character in Broken Age.
Biography[ | ]
Brommel is the maternal grandfather of Vella. He is be stubborn and strong while also being loyal to his family. He is the only member of Vella's family that shows contempt for the Maidens Feast.

Act 1[ | ]
At the beginning of Vella's story hides the ceremonial knife in an attempt to stop her from entering the Feast.
Act 2[ | ]
He goes with his family to Meriloft to look for Vella. It is mentioned through conversation and him often striking people with his staff, such as Ch't, that he was a warrior when Sugar Bunting was known as Steel Bunting. He then boards Alex's ship to look for Vella. At the end, he beats the thrushmaster with his cane.

- The name Brommel comes from the Old English words meaning "hollow where the broom grows"
- Apparently he lost his eye from a fight with Mog Chothra, but it is unlikely
- He is shown in the End Credits beating the Thrush President with his cane, hugging Vella and cheering her on as she makes a cake
